Bern runs from the capital region toward the Alps and the Jura. German is the official language, with a French-speaking minority in the Jura bernois. Sale and rent listings use BE.
What seekers usually check
- German is official. The Jura bernois is French-speaking, and Biel/Bienne is bilingual. A German listing is not a translation of every local form.
- The canton is much larger than the federal city. Thun, Biel/Bienne, Interlaken, and Burgdorf are BE. A search for the city of Bern does not include them.
- Seekers usually care which commune they want, the language of the file, and whether they mean the Aare city or a smaller town. Nestivi does not rank those choices.
- Transfer costs are cantonal. Do not reuse a percentage you read for Zurich or Geneva.
